About Melissa Rowland, Psy.D.
Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Melissa Rowland is a Clinical Psychologist who has an in depth understanding of how our thoughts and behaviors influence overall health. As a mental health provider, Dr. Rowland seeks to improve clients’ quality of life and reduce overall suffering, using strategies from cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, and support. Her approach is strength based in that she believes that everyone can learn, grow, and heal to remove barriers to healthier
and more flexible living.
Dr. Rowland has substantial experience in training and education as well as supervising new therapists. She uses evidence-based treatment in working with children, adolescents, and adults who struggle with a variety of issues. Dr. Rowland has a special interest in health psychology with areas of specialty including heath related issues such as weight, diabetes and sleep concerns; and anxiety and mood disorders including phobias, OCD, anxiety, and depression. Additionally, Dr. Rowland has significant experience with parenting issues, ADHD in children and adults, behavioral issues, and children with chronic illness. Dr. Rowland does psychological testing for the purposes of differential diagnosis, ADHD, intelligence testing, giftedness, and learning disability.
